Fiddles & Faces Duo
Gail Stadelman
With 35 years of professional classical violin experience, Gail holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Violin Performance from The Ohio State University. She has performed with The Columbus Symphony since 1979, and has played with BalletMet Columbus, Opera Columbus, Jazz Arts Group, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Columbus Bach Ensemble, Lancaster Festival Orchestra, and Lexington Philharmonic. She has performed in the pit orchestra with Broadway Across America for such traveling Broadway productions as Beauty and the Beast, Camelot, Fiddler on the Roof, Evita, The Sound of Music, Titanic, and West Side Story. She has performed in orchestras for Diana Ross, Luciano Pavarotti, Manheim Steamroller, Moody Blues, Smokey Robinson, and Trans Siberian Orchestra, and she played at Carnegie Hall with The Columbus Symphony in 2001. She opened a private violin studio in 2002 and is the benefactor of the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra Stadelman Family Scholarship program, which provides financial assistance to young musicians with outstanding musical abilities. She’s a member of the Columbus Federation of Musicians.
 
Nora Calvert
Nora has more than 33 years of professional classical violin experience. She completed her education with a Bachelor’s in Violin Performance at Oberlin Conservatory and completed her Master’s in Performance and Music Education Certification at Northwestern University. After her graduate studies, she taught orchestra in Naperville/Aurora, Illinois public schools for five years and won the Most Influential Educator Award in 2001. Nora has performed with such top ensembles as the Chicago Civic Orchestra, Greenbay Opera Company, Lexington Phiharmonic, Opera Columbus, The Columbus Symphony, ProMusica (as a soloist), Columbus Bach Ensemble, and Broadway Across America in productions of Annie, The Producers, Light in the Piazza, The Sound of Music, and Chicago (solo violin). She has also played with such renowned artists as Mel Torme, Peter Nero, Al Jarreau, Wayne Newton, Yanni, Mannheim Steamroller, and Andrea Bocelli. She currently teaches full time as a strings specialist in the Upper Arlington City school district.
 
Fiddles & Faces String Quartet


The Fiddles & Faces String Quartet formed in 2006 and features violinists Gail Stadelman and Nora Calvert, cellist Peter Case, and violist Sarah Case.

Peter Case
Peter earned degrees in cello performance from Oberlin Conservatory and Indiana University, and his music education degree from The University of Minnesota. He was a member of the Kono String Quartet, which was a finalist in the First International Osaka Chamber Music Competition in Osaka, Japan. He has freelanced extensively throughout the country and played in a backup orchestra for Jimmy Paige and Robert Plant. He currently works at the Loft Violin Shop.

Sarah Case
Sarah is the director of Bloom! Music and Movement Centre in Columbus, where she teaches private lessons and Music Together classes for families with young children. She has taught general music and strings at public schools in Ohio, Florida, and Illinois, including the Upper Arlington City school district. In addition to teaching, Sarah is a freelance violinist in the Columbus area. She holds degrees in music and education from St. Olaf College, The University of Minnesota, and The Ohio State University.
